Awarded as best Lion of the year in 1984-85

Was awarded as Lion of the Zone the Combined district of 323 A and was popularly known as 5P’s - “Pradip Parekh Past President Prabhadevi”,

Was appointed as District Chairperson Cancer Detection in 1989-91. Thousands of people benefitted from various cancer detection camps held during these years.

Was appointed as District Chairperson – Measles Minus in 1992 -93, published a booklet on Measles Minus and distributed in Mumbai. Information in the booklet was appreciated by all. And was felicitated by Mayor of Mumbai.

Was appointed as District Chairperson for Extension, in 1994- 95 total 9 Clubs were extended during the tenure received award for same.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Sight First, in 1998-99 More than 100 eye checkup camps were organized. 500 Intra Ocular Lenses were donated to Srilanka Lions.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Activities in 2000-01. Medical checkup camps were organized for Railway Police & their families. Full body checkup for under trials and Jail Police at Arthur Road Jail. Blood collection drive & Medical checkup camps held at Police Arms Division. Diabetes Checkup Camps held at 86 Police Stations in Mumbai. Was Felicitated by Police Commissioner of Mumbai.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Membership in 2004 - 05 and gave positive growth of quality members.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Administration in 2009-10, and provided excellent guidance for proper administration and functioning of club and district.

Was appointed as Executive Director Finance in 2012-14. Excellent knowledge of Finance provided helped Clubs and District for smooth administration and saved good amount of money.

- As 1st Vice District Governor was familiarize with the duties of the District Governor.
- Conducted a district quality assessment and collaborated with the district officers to develop a plan for membership growth, leadership development, operational improvement and fulfilment of humanitarian services.

Humble, soft spoken, straight forward man in his approach and very well known for Transparency, Disciplined and Time bound Meetings in a very meticulous way. For betterment of District 3231 A1 framed “District Policy” to the named most Important ones.

Was elected as President of Lions Club of Prabhadevi in 1985-86. And was awarded as Best President of district.

Was appointed as Zone Chairperson in 1988-89 and was Best Zone Chairperson from combined District 323 A.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Blood Collection in 1991-92, and created a history in district by collecting 3000 blood units.

Was appointed as Region Chairperson in 1993 – 94 and created a history with Houseful conference attended by more than 500 Lions. Was awarded as Best Region Chairperson.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Twinning, in 1997-98 and organized Dandiya Rass programme wherein Lions Members and family participated with total gathering of 2500+ persons.

Was appointed as Jt. Cabinet Treasurer. District accounts were finalized and audited in a single day. i.e. 1st July ( beginning of Lionistic year). Excellent planning of funds helped to refund back Rs.1000 to each Cabinet members from their Cabinet Dues.

Was appointed as Cabinet Secretary in 2001- 02, District Conference & PST Schooling held for the 1st Time for 2 Consecutive days. Excellent planning of funds helped 2nd time to refund back Rs.1000 to each Cabinet members from their Cabinet Dues.

Was appointed as District Chairperson Fellowship in 2007-08 and organized various Fellowship programmes

Was appointed as Cabinet Treasurer in 2010-11. ₹ 9 Lacs were saved from District Treasury. 3rd time ₹ 1,000/- refunded back to cabinet members from their cabinet dues. Was awarded as Best Cabinet Treasurer in entire multiple 323.

-As 2nd Vice District Governor got familiarize with the health and status of the clubs in the district by visiting clubs. -Worked with the District Lions Clubs International Foundations (LCIF) Coordinator and assisted the committee to achieve the goals of the year through providing regular information of LCIF and distributing materials to increase understanding and support of LCIF.

A grass root Lion having experience of 4 decades is popular not only in District 3231 A1 and MD 3231 but also in neighboring Districts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh became 1st District Governor Second Centrury. A Man Known for his Principles & Commitment and having deep Lionistic knowledge climbed the Ladder of Journey in Lionism slowly and steadily enjoying all the Positions in Cabinet, and finally was installed as 1st District Governor of the Second Century at the Convention held in Chicago 2017 which was attended by 55 members of our District.

Brought in many new innovative ideas for District 3231 A1 viz:
  • Organizing the Honorary Meeting of all the Past District Governors before the District Cabinet Meeting, to discuss about the welfare of the District.
  • For the First time in the history of our District, Cabinet members were installed in same way as District Governor is installed at International Convention.
  • The District partnered with a leading daily Gujarati Newspaper ’JANMABHOOMI’ where the news of the District and Clubs were flashed throughout the year building LIONS IMAGE in General Public.
  • Encouraged maximum Lions to contribute towards LCIF and collected more than US$ 14,000 for LCIF.
  • Motivated all Members of our District to organize maximum Camps and Project in Large Scale of all 5 Service Areas of Vision, Diabetes, Hunger, Environment and Pediatric Cancer.
  • Diabetes checkup and follow up Camps were held in large scale throughout the year which brought the Lionism on the map of Guinness Book of world records.
  • Further Made Lions Image amongst the Postal Personal by Organizing Maximum Eye Checkup Camp under the project called “My Postman”.
  • On Occasion of our Founder Melvin Jones and International President Dr Naresh Aggarwal’s Birthday Distribution of Cooked Khichadi was carried out on Large Scale throughout the district.
  • Along with the above to many seminars were organized to Protect Environment & Create Awareness for Pediatric Cancer.
  • For the benefit of street children’s in association with Hamara Foundation a Kiosk has been constructed flashing Lions Logo at Mumbai Central Terminus creating awareness amongst General Public.
  • Holding the Lions Quest program in remote villages.
  • Idea and vision of Involving the Lions family and Young members was well accepted by our Lions and they supported him for his initiative of Lions Family Cricket Tournament, and Photography and Painting Exhibition where in Lion members and their family members Participated with full enthusiasm, all participants were highly recognized with exclusive awards.
  • Organized a Fellowship Tour of 3 Days to Nasik – Shirdi where in Lions & Family members enjoyed Hospitality and received compliments for the life time memorable tour of our District.
  • A strong support from Club Members, Active involvement of Cabinet Members and an Excellent Bonding of District Administration helped to achieve goal “We Serve with Humanity” by bringing Positive Growth of 108 Genuine Members and by adding 3 new Genuine Clubs made popular.
